The Salford Songbook is a new initiative, spearheaded by Salford Cathedral Music Foundation, which aims to explore a range of issues through workshopping, composing, performing & recording, resulting in an ongoing digital resource for singing communities, inspired by Salford and the North West.
This first chapter is a collaboration with the Laudato Si’ Centre involving children and young people from across our Diocese working with the multifaceted musician Hannah King to write new songs about our natural world.
In early July 2024, five workshops have taken place the Laudato Si’ Centre with our Cathedral Girls’ Choir and then children from primary schools across the Diocese who are engaged in our Salford Schools Singing Programme.
Read more about the workshops via our blog.
More news about the launch of these songs to follow in due course.
