The Relics of St Bernadette at Salford Cathedral

Thousands of people visited our cathedral this week to be in the presence of the Relics of St Bernadette. The relics rested in Salford for two days, from the 20-21 September, as part of their once-in-a-lifetime tour around the Catholic cathedrals of England, Scotland and Wales.

St Bernadette is close to the hearts of many across the world, her story inspiring millions of pilgrims to make their way to Lourdes to be in her presence and to experience the miracles of her intercessions.

There was a packed schedule of Mass and services throughout the two days, with opportunities to be close to the relics in peaceful reflection too. We’d like to thank all our parish volunteers, staff and clergy who stepped up to make this experience unforgettable! Many visitors expressed their thanks for the organised and prayerful atmosphere that was created.
