Parish Christmas Appeal

Parishioners helping Parishioners. We all know it’s been a very difficult and challenging year, none more so than families struggling financially and vulnerable or older adults living on their own. We can do something about that this Advent.

This year we are starting an annual Christmas Appeal to help parishioners who are less fortunate than ourselves to have a happy and less stressful Christmas.

In a project led by the SVP and Legion of Mary we want to provide new toys for struggling families and a Christmas food hamper for those living on their own.

PLEASE WILL YOU HELP? When you are shopping for toys for your children and grandchildren could you purchase an extra toy to share with other families or donate some non-perishable food such as a small Christmas cake, Christmas pudding, tinned ham, savoury pies, mince pies, savoury and sweet biscuits, preserves, tea coffee and perhaps a small bottle of wine? A box will be placed at the back of the Cathedral to place your donations in for the next 3 weeks, please ask one of the Stewards to direct you to it. Toys need to be received by the 15th December and food for the hampers by the 21st December. Please do take this opportunity to help our own parish families at this wonderful time of the year, it’s a small way that we can fulfil our duty as ‘Missionary Disciples’ by showing our love for those in need. Thank you for your support.
